The chemical tanker called the Blue Star* ran aground on a coast in Spain on 22th of November 2019. Due to mechanical failures the 128 meter long vessel ran aground, luckily the crew was unharmed. After de-fueling (especially de-fueling all the fluids that were on board) an initial attempts to pull her off the beach with tugs were not successful but with the right waves and tides the Blue Star was able to be refloated. OCRE Group was able to contribute to refloating the Blue Star by outsourcing the right SHEQ Manager. He was responsible for all safety, health, environment, and quality related tasks during this project.
*Vessel BLUE STAR (IMO: 9527764, MMSI: 215691000) is a Chemical / Oil Products Tanker built in 2011 and currently sailing under the flag of Malta.
